AN ERA OF SOCIAL OVERLOADED

Our emotions come from and are based on evolutionary history. They appear in the form of a feedback loop in the organism, trying to restorebalance after being stimulated.
The development of modern civilization has made mankind more and more separated from its natural attributes. Pollution, fast-paced life, tension, unprecedented huge amount of information, complicatedsocial relations, changes in work and rest methods have increased, which gradually increase and worsen psychological problems.

HOW TO EVALUATE EMOTION

German psychologist Wilhelm Wundt described emotions as joyful or unpleasant (called hedonic or regular Valance), a "simple feeling" that evokes or obeyed (called arousal Arousal), and strain and relaxation (corresponding to intensity).

READABLE EMOTION

Based on the Geneva Emotion Wheel'sdefinition emotions, I recorded my emotion everyday in several forms. The recorded content includes five dimensions: text, intensity, valance, conduciveness, control, and arousal.

INSTALATION DESIGN - SHAN SHUI

Entering the Shan Shui space composed of emotionalparticles, let the body fall into the soft fabric. Thespace itself will constantly affected by humanemotion and body.

METAPHOR FOR EMOTION

We are accustomed to living in man-made objects filled with planes andstraight lines. Because of this, we have forgotten the essence of emotions —flowing like natural objects. The work restores the rugged pavement in thelandscape jungle, aiming to remind us the emotions we have forgotten, so that we can have more perception of emotions.

IMPLEMENTATION - CONNECTION WITH COMMUNITY

This is an interactive immersive installation design based on emotion visualization. It aims to develop immersive interactive space that can communicate our real-time emotional state. This will not only help us in becoming more self-aware but also reflect on our affective state.
"Have you seen yourself a minute ago?" This is a slow self-examination experience. Each viewer can see the particle landscape constructed by himself and his emotions at the same time. Every tiny emotional change will be recorded by the moving particles , just like a frame of a movie.
The audience will experience not only the emotion at the moment, but more importantly, through the interaction of facial expressions, to achieve psychological repair. This work was placed in the community of Wuhan, hoping to repair people who were psychologically affected by the epidemic, and to repair the city.
